Before covid, it was the left that embraced the idea that vaccines can and do damage people. They were also against censorship, only to support censorship and propaganda that attacked questioning things or mentioning non toxic alternatives to the shots, remdesevir, ventilators, etc.
The social media companies enjoy section 230 protection and did not need to censor at all. But they did, and many on the left cheered that while the right was supportive of private companies' choice. Both fail to recognize that there should be no censorship at all. Where's my civil rights free speech left?? Nope, like the right, they became authoritarian.

At the same time government activities are extremely inefficient. Recently went to the passport office. Well organized stone-age process. It’s everywhere. Something has to be done about inefficiency and self serving regulations. They are chocking our economy.

It’s because of trillions of dollars in unfunded tax cuts that overwhelmingly benefit people at the top. The U.S. deficit is hundreds of billions of dollars higher so that Elon Musk and others can have billions of dollars more. It’s not going to the passport office.
Health, safety and environmental regulations DO protect the public, from being killed, poisoned, infected, dying in an accident or from air, water, soil or food.
I would present another view. Elon has implied he despises safety regulations because they slow innovation, and I suppose that's true. Another extremely vocal anti-regulation CEO was Stockton Rush, head of Ocean Gate. They created the Titan submersible. And we all know how that turned out.
US Federal Govt takes 16% of GDP in tax revenue. That leaves 84% untaxed by the US Federal Government. For that bargain we are a global hegemon and we have a reasonable social safety net. US household income is $80k and our poorest state in the union , incomes are higher than the UK
I agree Government is not efficient and if DOGE was aimed at investing the tens if nkt hundreds of billions required to upgrade public service delivery I’d sign up but it ain’t. It’s about depleting the $7 trillion in trust funds and adding even more in debt to finance tax cuts for the elite rich.
